A Second Century Ambassador and Melvin Jones Fellow, Lion M. Gojendra Singh was born in a well-known Mayanglambam family of late Mayanglambam Ibobi Singh, the Nat Guru who was a respected personality recognized by all in the field of Nat Sankritan. He is the eldest and only son of Late Mayanglambam Chittamani Singh the famed sportsperson of the State in his time known to be Hockey Goalkeeper Chittamani and Late Mayanglambam Ongbi Bhagyabati Devi of Sagolband, Meino Leirak, Imphal. His uncle Late Lion Dr. Mayanglambam Lala Singh, an eminent Eye Surgeon a member of the Lions Club of Imphal and the first Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur branch was the person who inspired him to join the Lions Club and the Indian Red Cross Society. Lion M. Gojendra Singh a lover of the game of Football is a Life Member of The All Manipur Football Association. He donated a trophy and prize money for a football tournament organized by the All Manipur Football Association known as the Late M. Chittamani Singh Memorial Winners’ Cup dedicated in the fond memory of his beloved father.
He is happily married to Lion Sunitibala Devi, a teacher by profession. They are blessed with three daughters and two sons. Two of his daughters happily married and blessed with one grandson and two granddaughters. His youngest daughter is now working for an MNC in a Senior Position and his two sons, one is a Computer Network Engineer and younger son is a Bio-Medical Engineer.
Academics and Profession
A Master’s Degree in Agriculture with Specialisation in Plant Breeding & Genetics. Joined the Department of Agriculture as AAO on the recommendation of the Manipur Public Service Commission and topping the list of 115 successful candidates in the year 1982.He Retired from State Government Service after attaining the highest post of Director, Agriculture Technology Management Agency in the Agriculture Department, Government of Manipur.
Joined Lions Club of Imphal Greater as Chartered 1st Vice President in the year 1999and become President in the year 2001 and he is in the Board of the club till date.
He served the District as Deputy Cabinet Secretary, Region Chairperson, Zone Chairperson and District Chairpersons. He is also a life member of the District Fund Foundation.
He graduated from the RLLI from Kathmandu in the year 2009. And also an Advance leadership Graduate from Colombo in the year in the year 2010.
He attended as many as 10 International Conventions, the last being the 101st Convention held at Las Vegas, and almost all the District Conferences and also Multiple and ISAAME Forums.

- Awarded the Best Boy Cadet of All Assam (comprising of all 7 North East states) 1970 by the NCC, Directorate Shillong.
- Awarded the Best Boy Cadet of All India and led the Parade in the Republic Day Celebration, 1970 held at New Delhi.
- Recipient of the Indira Gandhi Cane of Honour of the All India Best Boy Cadet 1970.
- Recipient of the President of India Cane of Honour of the All India Best Boy Cadet 1970.
- Recipient of the Award of Excellence for his active participation in the organising committee of the National Football Tournament for the Santosh Trophy at Imphal in 2000 when Manipur became the winner of the Trophy for the first time.
